Ever and Damen have gone through countless lives and fought off the world’s darkest enemies so they could be together. But just when an everlasting future is finally within their reach, Damen is struck down by a curse—a dark spell separating him and Ever for eternity. Now sharing so much as a single touch could bring about Damen’s death…and send him plummeting into the Shadowland, an eternal abyss for lost souls. Desperate to break the curse and save Damen, Ever immerses her herself in magick. And in her quest, she gets help from an unexpected source…a surfer named Jude.

Although she and Jude have only just met, he feels startlingly familiar. Despite her fierce loyalty to Damen, Ever is drawn to Jude, a green-eyed golden boy with magical talents and a mysterious past. She’s always believed Damen to be her soulmate and one true love—and she still believes it to be true. But as Damen pulls away to save them from the darkness inhabiting his soul, Ever’s connection with Jude grows stronger—and tests her love for Damen like never before…

3 out of 5 stars

Shadowland is the third book in The Immortals series and it wasn’t as good at Evermore (The Immortals #1) but it wasn’t as bad as Blue Moon (The Immortals #2). I didn’t hate this book, I mean it was more of an “ehh” book. I kind of dreaded picking it up, but still finished it, obviously. In this book Damen clocks out again and it was really irritating. He thinks he was being selfish with Ever so he leaves. I don’t like Damen, but they’re supposed to be soul-mates and love eachother forever. What the heck. Nothing really happened in this book and it was annoying because I was waiting for something rocking-awesome to happen to kickstart the series, but it never came. I think most of the aspects of the story didn’t develop; therefore, it was pointless to have so many little things add up to nothing.

I already said that I don’t like Damen, and I think Ever is way too whiny. Haven and Miles were Ever’s so-called best friends, but they kind of disappeared when Damen came along. Ever got a job at Jude’s book shop. Jude was my favorite character from the book. He, we found out, has loved Ever in past lives, but only Ever remembers it because Damen (her immortal boyfriend) showed her! Why would he show her the person he’s been competing with for six-hundred years? What? I just don’t understand why he would show her that. Jude is my favorite character because he’s really nice and really good looking. Being a good looking surfer dude didn’t hurt his case either.

Who Would I Be?:

I think I would be Ever’s best friend, Haven. I like the innocence Haven had in the story. She broke up with her boyfriend because he got her a cat. (another un-important tid-bit of information) I really enjoyed (well… liked a little better) when Haven was in the story.
