“If you have a front door, you have so much more than people in the villages of Ghana. Imagine your family living in a one room house made of mud, with no running water or electricity.” The Power of Half – Page 42
I think that this is really powerful to think about. This book is about a family who decides to give up their “perfect” lifestyle (fancy cars, fancy house, lots of money), for something more ordinary. The family of four decides to sell their house and buy one that’s worth half as much. It is a really great read so far, and I would recommend it to anyone who likes organizations like Toms or Krochet Kids.
Today is the second day of the Bout of Books Readathon, and I haven’t read anything today…. Still putting my page count at 37. I plan on reading in a little while, though. this weekend will be a great time to read because there is a long car ride in my future. What is your page count for the week?
