Feyre, Rhys, and their close-knit circle of friends are still busy rebuilding the Night Court and the vastly-changed world beyond. But Winter Solstice is finally near, and with it, a hard-earned reprieve. Yet even the festive atmosphere can’t keep the shadows of the past from looming. As Feyre navigates her first Winter Solstice as High Lady, she finds that those dearest to her have more wounds than she anticipated–scars that will have far-reaching impact on the future of their Court.

4 out of 5 stars

Even though not a lot happened in this novella, I am still so happy to have read it so soon after the release date. I LOVED reading about the characters again and seeing through different perspectives.

The best part of this was the sneak peek of the next book in the series lol. Not that the rest was bad, obviously, but I’m so excited to see Nesta and Cassian’s relationship actually turn into something because I’m rooting for that so hard. I’m predicting that Nesta will become super badass because she realizes how she needs to get revenge on the human queens once and for all, and after she figures that out there won’t be any way to stop her. I love that Cassian is so taken with her, but I really want to find out what his present to her was that he threw into the river. Temper, Cassian.

I find it quite annoying when people go on and on about how Sarah J. Maas isn’t portraying overly strong feminist characters. Personally, I think you can be a feminist but still want to cook, clean, shop, and design a new house. I don’t understand how that makes you less of a feminist, but that’s just me.

I’m anxious to see what Mor does about that estate situation with the scary thing in the woods because I would have freaked the freak out. I think it’s cool that she has her own space but I wish she wouldn’t keep it a complete secret from everyone else because I think it’s going to come out and people’s feelings are going to get hurt bla bla bla.

I can’t wait for the next in the series!
