This week I didn’t read that much. I read about 50 pages in Seraphina and read about 20 pages in Let’s Explore Diabetes with Owls. Next week I will read more and have the review for Seraphina up. I have been very busy with schoolwork lately, so that is why there has been a lack of posting. I am trying my hardest to get back on a regular posting schedule.
I went to an auction today, and found a small bag with a Gameboy Advance, a Gameboy Color, six Pokemon games and about six random games. I bid on it, and got it for $42. I have started playing the Pokemon Pikachu Edition on the Gameboy Advance and it’s so much fun. Pokemon is definitely still my favorite game, and I’m definitely planning on bringing it with me on my Florida trip!
Hello, hello. This week has been very busy, but fun. On Thursday I had a dance audition for the audition piece we do in recital, and I got in! We had the learning day today from 1:00-6:00 and it was very tiring. I’m very excited, though. I didn’t do a lot of reading this week, but I will finish Seraphina next week and start the Shadow Scale. On the 26th of February marked one year of my boyfriend and I dating. It was really awesome because he got me a cherry pie (my favorite thing ever because who doesn’t love cherry) and I got him a Tim Howard book. Of course it was a book, but he loves Tim Howard. He was on the American soccer team, but moved to England and is now on the Everton team. My boyfriend’s favorite team is Everton, and he’s a goalie just like Tim Howard. My school’s semi formal was yesterday so we went to dinner first and then went to the dance. We looked really nice and all fancy. ‘Twas a great time. HARRY POTTER WORLD IS HAPPENING IN ABOUT TWO WEEKS!!! I am so excited. So so so excited. Ahhh!
Happy Sunday! It’s currently about 3 1/2 weeks until I go to Florida for my music trip for school! That means that I get to see The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando. *happy dance* Other than that exciting news, I have read a lot today. I felt guilty for my obsession with Dance Academy on Netflix, so I read quite a bit in Seeker. I was supposed to have Seeker finished at the beginning of the month for NetGalley, but hey. Stuff came up. I’m still reading it. I don’t really like it that much. Some parts are really good; the beginning was awesome. But the middle/endish parts are just pointless. There is so much going on that didn’t need to happen. For book club we just started Let’s Explore Diabetes With Owls and it’s very odd. I don’t really like it, but some parts are funny. It’s just about this guy telling his life stories in short story format. I just found out that I accidentally order a Hungarian version of a book on my Nook. It was $12 and there are no refunds. I can’t read it… ugh.
A lot has happened this week, and some of it relating to books. I finished The Murder of Roger Ackroyd. If you haven’t checked out my review, you should do so. If you’ve not read this book, you should DEFINITELY do so. It was an awesome book, just putting that out there. I made a lot of progress in Clockwork Angel, so that’s always fun. I was contacted by an author who asked me to read his book and I’m very excited about it. It sounds like an amazing book, but I don’t want to give it away. Stay posted for my review of it coming in the next couple weeks. I have a bunch of review books that I have to read, but on top of the author contacting me, Radiant Books contacted me to read and review a book of theirs. I am very excited, but am getting a little worried as to when I will finish all of these books. Oh well, I’ll make it work. I’m still currently reading Seeker, which I got from NetGalley and didn’t finish in time. I will finish that one after finishing Clockwork Angel. Anything amazing happen to you? Have you read any great books lately?
This week I finished Just One Year and didn’t love it, sadly. I read the portion I had to of The Murder of Roger Ackroyd for book club, and got a little further in the book Seeker. I am supposed to have the review for Seeker up by Tuesday, but I highly doubt that is going to happen. I got it for review from NetGalley, so I will try and have it finished. I’m about 30% through it, so I’ll make some progress on it tomorrow. I had a dance audition on Friday, so I left school early to go to it. It went really well, and I’m proud of how I did. I have a history test and a biology test both on Tuesday, so I’ll be studying for both of those. In the next week I plan to finish Seeker, Clockwork Angel, and The Murder of Roger Ackroyd. I’m going to try and read a lot this week, because I haven’t had a lot of reviews up lately. Other than that, nothing much has happened. Anything wonderful happen to you this weekend?
Happy Super Bowl Sunday! Did the team you wanted to win end up winning the game? I wanted the Seahawks to win, but I’m over it now. This week I’ve read some of The Murder of Roger Ackroyd for book club, and am almost finished with Just One Year. I know I said that I would have a review of Just One Year up this week, but I just didn’t have time. Next week (as in tomorrow’s week) I get to have a massage on Tuesday. Praise the Lord. I need a massage so badly. Dancer muscles get so sore. Anywho, then on Friday I get to go and audition for a summer dance intensive. I’m really excited because I’ve not had an actual audition with people I don’t know. Very excited for the next week :)
Hello, hello. Happy end of the week. Tomorrow second semester officially starts; dreading it, but looking forward to it at the same time. I haven’t read that much in the past couple of weeks, but I am going to try and finish a couple books this week. I am banning myself from Netflix and YouTube, so I’ll read more. I am currently reading The Murder of Roger Ackroyd for book club, Just One Year, and Clockwork Angel. My goal is to finish Just One Year and Clockwork Angel because I just need to. So, honestly I don’t have much to talk about! With the new semester comes a new class. Lifetime Sports. Hmm. Just digest that for a second… I am not sporty. At all. It’s a miracle that I can play soccer. I hate running. I have no hand-eye coordination. It’s going to be a mess. Ooh. Very nervous for that class. Wish me luck. Please… or prayers. Or both.
Welcome, old and new readers of the blog. Happy Sunday. This has been a very crazy week because J-Term started, but we got late starts, early outs, and no school days because of weather. We didn’t have a full day of school last week at all. It was quite hectic. This week I participated in the Bout of Books 12.0 Readathon, and I will have a wrapup on that posted tomorrow evening. I finished Blog Inc. (completing the Author You’ve Never Read Before category on the 2015 Reading Challenge) and To Dance (Graphic Novel challenge) and am almost finished with The Power of Half. I plan on having the review of it up before the end of the week. I really love the message The Power of Half gives; it really makes me want to help in some way. I plan on finishing Clockwork Angel soon, then starting Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince after that. This week I will also be starting Just One Year by Gayle Forman because I get to buddy read it with one of my best friends who’s just gotten into reading. If you want to buddy read anything with me just comment down below! This week will be fairly simple and not chaotic like last week was, so that’ll be very nice. Happy almost halfway through January!
Happy Sunday! This week has been a wonderful week for me in both reading and blogging. I finished The Calling and gave it 4 stars. I had been reading this since the 22nd of December, but I have no idea why it took me so long. The Calling completed one of the challenges in the 2015 Reading Challenge put on by Popsugar. I marked this book as a book set in a different country, because they travel everywhere, and most of the time it was not in the United States. I really enjoyed this book and am so excited for the next ones. Unfortunately the second book doesn’t even have a title… so yay for me. Cliffhangers will be the death of me, I swear. Anywho. I am currently reading Blog Inc. by Joy Deangdeelert Cho; it’s about how to create and keep up a successful blog. I plan on finishing Blog Inc. tonight and maybe continuing on with The Power of Half. I have officially blogged every single day of 2015. I mean it’s only the fourth, but still. It works for me. I have decided that scheduling posts will be perfect for me once school starts back up (aka tomorrow). Not super excited for school, but we start J-Term tomorrow, so that’s kind of exciting. I plan on continuing to post consistently as the year progresses. I will be posting my 2014 Year in Review that WordPress sent to bloggers this week, as well.
Bout of Books 12.0 Readathon TBR! This will my first time participating in a Bout of Books.
The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, January 5th and runs through Sunday, January 11th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 12 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. – From the Bout of Books team
I knew about Bout of Books, but never really looked into it. I have no idea why I didn’t look into it, but whatever. Beside the point. I saw a TBR video on PeruseProject and decided, hey. Why not? My TBR will include…
Of course there is no possible way to finish all of these books in one week, but I will try and make get as far as I can into these. I just need to commit. I will most likely be putting a progress section on every post this week telling how everything is going, page number, etc. Join me in Bout of Books 12.0! What’s on your TBR for this week?
Hello, hello! Good evening, everyone. This week has been good for me, but I’ve realized that I probably will not make my GoodReads reading goal this year. I’m honestly okay with that, though. I love reading, but I think the reason I have been in such a slump is because I’ve been pressured to read because of this GoodReads goal. In 2015 I think I’m going to set my goal at 50 books, rather than 62, but I’m going to not stress about it. I have decided that I am going to do a 2015 Reading Challenge. It is a full year long challenge with a bunch of cool books to read.
I found this challenge on Pinterest and am so excited, because I am going to really commit to this. I’ve never done anything like this, and I think it will be refreshing to take a step away from young adult. I love young adult, but I’ve found that almost all are the same. Dystopian, forbidden love, dire situations. But, branching out to adult, and non-fiction, fantasy. There are so many choices in books that are not YA. In the new year I will be trying to branch out.
This weekend I’ve been sick with the flu. So puking my guts out, basically. I have read quite a few pages today, but I don’t think I really took in the story because of the whole vomiting thing. I’m currently reading Endgame: The Calling – James Frey and am really really loving it. Oh my, let me tell ya. Sarah and Jago are perfect. Christopher just needs to stop, and An and Chiyoko are great. Holy goodness sakes. Sarah and Jago. Mm. Shipping them so hard. If you’ve read this book you understand.
