Top Ten Tuesday (6)

This week on Top Ten Tuesday is 1o Popular Authors I’ve Never Read.

1. Ransom Riggs

I bought Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children last month and I really want to read it. I can’t wait to pick it up :)

2. Marissa Meyer

I have Cinder, but haven’t had the urge to pick it up yet.

3. Marcus Zusak

I want to read The Book Thief so bad, but I just havent gotten around to. I have it and plan to read it soon.

4. Lemony Snicket

Yes, yes. I know. It’s bad. I haven’t read the Series of Unfortunate Events. I have some of them, but when I was younger I was intimidated by how many books there were in the series so I never read any….

5. Lauren Kate

The only reason I haven’t read Fallen is because I’ve heard a lot of people didn’t like them and I don’t really want to read a book if I know I’m going to hate it.

6. Lauren Oliver

I want to read Panic so so bad. I don’t have it, but I want to get it. It sounds interesting.

7. Pitticus Lore

I have the first three books in the I Am Number Four series but I haven’t read any of them, but I really want to.

8. Laini Taylor

I have one book by Laini Taylor and I only have it because I got it cheap from I don’t know what it’s about, but I plan on reading it.

9. Neil Gaiman

I’ve heard amazing things about Neil Gaiman, but I just haven’t picked up one of his books. I don’t own any, but I plan to read one soon.

10. J. R. R. Tolkien

*shame* This one is really bad. I need to read the Lord of the Rings. I “read” The Hobbit last year during literature class, but I didn’t actually pay attention because we only read random chapters, so I don’t count it.

Top Ten Tuesday (4)

This week on Top Ten Tuesday is Top Ten Reasons I Love Being a Blogger/Reader! Here are some of my reasons that I love being a blogger and reader :)

The Broke and Bookish created this meme. Check out their page for future Top Ten Tuesday themes!

1. I love being a reader because… You can live in a different world.

Sometimes you’re life is getting stressful or something is happening to you and you want to escape. Reading is my outlet from life. I can go anywhere or travel anywhere in the world without moving my feet.

2. I love being a reader because… You can read anywhere.

You can be lounging around at home in your pajamas or riding in the car, it doesn’t matter where you are, you can always read. Books don’t need wifi so you can “connect” with the book anywhere. You can take in the story in between classes or right before bed.

3. I love being a reader because… The book boyfriends.

I have so many book boyfriends because of my jouneys within stories. I get to know the characters and come to love some, and hate others. “I fell in love the way you fall asleep; slowly, then all at once.” Just a little John Green quoteage.

4. I love being a reader because… Books smell nice.

This is probably weird, but I really love the smell of books. I buy a new book. Smell it. Put it on my shelf. Decide what to read. Then start reading. #TheCycleOfAFangirl

5. I love being a reader because… I’ve gained a lot of writing skills.

I don’t know if I want to be an author when I get older, but I’ve acquired so many writing skills. The more you read the more you understand sentence structure and good word choice. Reading (even fiction) helps me with writing school papers.

6. I love being a blogger because… I get to talk to random people that love books as much as I do.

I am not what you would call a social butterfly, so when I get to talk to people over the internet that love the same things I do, I’m all over it. Writing things out is so much easier than speaking for me, so when I get to talk about reading and books I’ve read, or plan to read, I don’t get nervous or feel obligated to not sound stupid.

7. I love being a blogger because… I get exposed to so many new books.

I have gotten ARC copies and I’ve found books I probably wouldn’t have read online. I get the chance to have people send me their books to review. I, being a reader, love the new books and gladly accept them. :)

8. I love being a blogger because… I get to talk about books.

I love talking about books because, I obviously love them. I love writing reviews and telling people what I think about a book I’ve read. I get to recommend books to anyone who wants to listen. It’s the best thing when someone comments that they read my post and immediately bought or downloaded the book I’d talked about.

9. I love being a blogger because… Fandoms.

I get to be part of some of the most magical things on the internet. The Fandoms. I get to read fan-fic of my favorite books and get tshirts with quotes and it’s just amazing. :)

10. I love being a blogger because… I get to fangirl with other fangirls.

Fangirling is one of my specialties. I do it all the time, and at least once a day. Why not talk to fellow fangirls while I’m at it? :)

One of the people I nominated for the Liebster Blog Award made their blog post! Check it out and follow! I Love to Read and Review Books.

Top Ten Tuesday (3)

This week on Top Ten Tuesday is Top Ten Books that Will Make You Swoon. I have picked some books that have really well written romance in them and the ones I really liked. :)

1. The Fault in Our Stars – John Green *review*

Hazel Grace and Augustus have one of my absolute favorite romances from any book I’ve ever read. It’s so cute and so real. I think something like that could actually happen and I really enjoyed that throughout the book.

2. Fangirl – Rainbow Rowell *review*

I love love love Cath and Levi’s relationship in this book. This couple is adorable. It was so cute that I almost think it couldn’t happen, but I still love it and its one of my favorite books.

3. Minutes Before Sunset (The Timely Death Trilogy #1) – Shannon A. Thompson *review*

I got the opportunity to read this book sent from Shannon Thompson herself and it surprised me how good it was. I love Eric and Jessica together. I love the idea of how their stories come together and it is amazingly written.

4. The Coincidence of Callie and Kayden (The Coincidence #1) – Jessica Sorensen

Okay, I’m excited now. I just looked this up on Goodreads and saw there were three books in this series. Oh my goodness. I need to reread this book anyway because I really enjoyed it, but now I can read the others as well! Oh em gee. Anyway, I love this book. This is the first New Adult book I read and I had no idea what New Adult was at the time. I thought it was a Young Adult book, but then I read it and NOT YA. I love Callie and Kayden though and cannot wait to reread and read the sequels.

5. It’s Not Summer Without You (Summer #2) – Jenny Han *review*

I am really enjoying these books and I love Belly and Conrad and Belly and Jeremiah for different reasons. At the beginning I was team Conrad, but then once I read the second book I was rooting for Jeremiah. Jenny Han did an excellent job of giving both of them an equal chance with Belly, but I hope she ends up with Jeremiah.

6. Vampire Academy (Vampire Academy #1) – Richelle Mead *review*

Lissa and Dimitri are absolutely perfect together and it makes it even better because their love is “forbidden.” It’s the perfect Romeo and Juliet kind of thing…. except with vampires…. :)

7. Envy (The Fury Trilogy #2) – Elizabeth Miles *review*

I love Em and her relationship the love interest. The end of the first book was better with this because you understood where they met and everything, but the second describes how she should have fallen for him before and she shouldn’t have had to have a run-in with the Furies. I really enjoy these books and they will definitely make you swoon.

8. Evolution (Evolution #1) – Kelly Carrero *review*

I absolutely adore the relationship between Jade and Aiden. I love how he is so protective of her and the whole story just makes me so happy.

9. City of Lost Souls (The Mortal Instruments #5) – Cassandra Clare

Clary and Jace are perfect. They are wonderful, but I want to have Jace all to myself, so they aren’t my favorite couple. I love Simon and Izzy, but Alec and Magnus are my favorite couple. They are so cute together and the TMI fandom doesn’t care that they’re gay. It makes them much more likeable because it’s different.

10. The Season – Sarah MacLean

I adore this book and I plan to reread it because I liked it so much. This is one of my favorite Historical Fiction novels because it’s very girly, but I really relate to the main character.

Top Ten Tuesday (2)

Top Ten Books That Will Make You Cry

*disclaimer. I have never cried during a book before. These are books that ALMOST made me cry*

1. The Fault in Our Stars – John Green *review*

This is obvious, isn’t it?

2. Allegiant (Divergent #3) – Veronica Roth

The ending…. That explains the reason.

3. Fury (The Fury Trilogy #1) – Elizabeth Miles *review*

The end was really sad and I almost did cry.

4. Chains (Seeds of America #1) – Laurie Halse Anderson

I read this a long time ago but remember getting teared up a little. This book was about a young girl in slavery, I believe. I have reasons to get teared up.

5. Esperanza Rising – Pam Muñoz Ryan

This book was the first book that almost made me cry. I love this book, but parts were definitely sad.

6. Number the Stars – Lois Lowry

We read this in school during class but I would not cry because we were in the classroom.

7. Tuck Everlasting – Natalie Babbitt

This, again, was a book we we read in class in middle school and I remember wanting to cry, but not, becausewe were in the classroom.

8. City of Fallen Angels (The Mortal Instruments #4) – Cassandra Clare

Jace. Jace. Jace is the reason I almost cried.

9. The Eleventh Plague – Jeff Hirsh

This was an apocalypse book, therefore there were almost tears.

10. Mockingjay (The Hunger Games #3) – Suzanne Collins

Must I say why?

Top 10 Tuesday (1)

Top 10 characters I’d never want to switch places with:

1. Hazel Grace (The Fault in Our Stars – John Green)

I love Hazel but I wouldn’t want to have to deal with having cancer. I wouldn’t want my best friend to have cancer either. I wouldn’t want to endure that so I would NOT trade places with Hazel Grace.

2. Em Winters (Fury (The Fury Trilogy #1) – Elizabeth Miles)

Emily is a nice character but she has to deal with the Furies and her “true love” doesn’t end up remembering her. I couldn’t deal with the constant revenge.

3. Voldemort (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (Harry Potter #1) – J. K. Rowling)

This one is obvious. Voldemort is evil…

4. Percy Jackson (Percy Jackson and the Olympians #1) – Rick Riordan)

Percy would be fun to be friends with but I would not trade places with him because he’s constantly having people coming after him. I wouldn’t be able to deal with the constant struggle of running away.

5. Ever (Blue Moon (The Immortals #2) – Alyson Noël)

I wouldn’t want to be Ever because she is so whiny and irritating. I wouldn’t want to be associated with that so I would not trade places with her.

6. Jade (Evolution (Evolution #1) – Kelly Carerro)

I really like Jade as a character, but I wouldn’t want to be chased by my evil dad…

7. Wren (Fangirl – Rainbow Rowell)

I would love to be Cath, but being Cath’s twin sister would be tough because Cath is really needy. Sometimes being needy isn’t a bad thing, like in Cath’s case, but Wren sleeps around and gets in trouble.

8. Eric (Minutes Before Sunset (The Timely Death Trilogy #1) – Shannon A. Thompson)

I don’t think I would like to be Eric because when he is Eric nobody likes him. I would like the shapeshifting kind of thing but would not want to be important in one life and hated in another.

9. Dimitri (Vampire Academy (Vampire Academy #1) – Richelle Mead)

I wouldn’t want to be Dimitri because his love for Lissa is forbidden and that would be really hard to deal with because he loves her and she loves him… It’s a lose-lose situation.

10. Kara (3 Days (3 Days #1) – Krista Madden)

I would not want to be Kara because she gets rejected and she lives when the apocalypse happens and has to keep moving on with her life after that and I think that would be really strenuous and difficult to deal with.
