The hotly anticipated third book in the bestselling Bone Season series – a ground-breaking, dystopian fantasy of extraordinary imagination
Following a bloody battle against foes on every side, Paige Mahoney has risen to the dangerous position of Underqueen, ruling over London’s criminal population.
But, having turned her back on Jaxon Hall and with vengeful enemies still at large, the task of stabilising the fractured underworld has never seemed so challenging.
Little does Paige know that her reign may be cut short by the introduction of Senshield, a deadly technology that spells doom for the clairvoyant community and the world as they know it…

Again, I’m so glad that I actually picked up this series this year, because I’m really enjoying it!
I read this book as a buddy read with my friend Kenedie, and that really pushed me to read it and get through it. The first half of this book was hella slow, and REALLY hard for me to focus on. I was doing a lot of school work, and also trying to read another book, so this got set aside. That is my theory for why I didn’t enjoy the first half that much, but the second half was so redeeming!
This book follows Paige Mahoney, the new Underqueen for The Mime Order. She is trying to find and destroy the core of Senshield before it destroys all the Unnaturals in the world she lives in. She gets captured, and has to find out how to save her people, while still being alive… Hmm.
The second half and the ending. Wow. I’m so excited to read the next book of this series because I can’t wait to find out what happens. It’s sad because the next book is still untitled, and it’s supposed to come out sometime in 2018, sooooooo I have to wait a little while, but I’ll get there.
I highly recommend this series to anyone who likes paranormal, urban fantasy, and lots of action. This book is full to the brim of intensely written action scenes, that are so fun to read. They feel so real when you’re reading them, so if you like action, you’d be here for it.
I don’t want to give any spoilers as this is the third book in the series, but Jaxon pisses me off. I’m sad that the Seven Dials had to be separated. I know that Zeke will show up sometime. I’m excited because Warden and Paige are traveling together. The next book will be interesting, and I can’t wait to read it, because Samantha Shannon knows how to write a cliff-hanger!!
