Woah, what? I’m back? Yes, that is correct. I have been MIA for almost a week! oopsies. I decided I was going to be in soccer, so I have had to start running for that on top of all my dance. On Monday night, right after school, I went to my local sports store and bought all my things for soccer: cleats, shin guards, shorts, etc. I’ve never been part of a sports team so I’m really excited, but nervous. Anyway, I’ve had to run *ergh. running.* and I’ve just been tired. So, I am currently reading Don’t Even Think About It – Sarah Mlynowski. I got this from NetGalley, and I looked on the NetGalley website a couple days ago, and realized that there was an expiration date of when you needed to have the review up…. You could say I’m a newbie at NetGalley. I started reading it thinking I could finish it in the short two days, but I still haven’t finished it. I won’t get my review up on NetGalley, but I will still have it here. All I can say about this book is that it’s really weird. This homeroom gets flu shots and then the next day they can hear eachother’s thoughts. Like, what? It’s not bad, but it is definitely not 4 or 5 stars good.
This week I am reading Frostbite (Vampire Academy #2) – Richelle Mead. I love this series and am so glad that I picked this one up. Frostbite is better than Vampire Academy *review* because you already know the characters and the setting and you can focus on the plot changing and twisting. I really love Rose because she’s snarky and sassy, and Lissa is sweet but apparently has wonderful ideas. I am at the part where Lissa just gave her ideas about the Moroi fighting to some of the other Royals. I really enjoy this story and I love that it’s set at a ski resort. It’s great to read a wintery book while it’s cold and wintery outside because it feels like you could do some of the things they’re doing. I feel like I could go skiing and be at an awesome ski resort. :)
This Wednesday I am reading Shadowland (The Immortals #3) – Alyson Noël. I did not like the second on in this series, but being me I have to finish the whole series. This one is just dragging on and I am only on page 90 of 339. I am already irritated with the characters and can’t wait to finish it. Remember, just because I don’t like this series does NOT mean you won’t like this series. I am just not particularly enjoying it at the moment. I could end up loving this book or just being ehh about it. :)
Yesterday and today I’ve been home sick with what I think is the flu *sigh* but I’ve been reading the whole time. Today I finished Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (Harry Potter #3) – J. K. Rowling *review* and I am about to start Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (Harry Potter #4) – J. K. Rowling. I am reading these books for the #AYearAThon theme of February, Harry Potter. *#AYearAThon Goodreads group* I do have to say, these books do keep getting better the further I go into the series. I have only read 1,2,3 and 4 and I cannot wait until I finish the other three. Although they do get very good as they go on, so far my favorite is Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (Harry Potter #2) – J. K. Rowling *review* :)
I just finished The Legend of the Moonstone: A Series for Kids and Young Adults – Meglena Ivanova. Check out my review! *linked above* I am currently reading It’s Not Summer Without You (Summer #2) – Jenny Han. I really enjoyed the first one and need a quick and light hearted read right now. I finished the first one in a day, so I think I’ll be able to finish this one relatively quick. I’m very excited about this book because, like I said, I loved the first. If I can manage to finish this book before the end of the month, I will pick up Shadowland (The Immortals #3) – Alyson Noël to continue on with the story.
The author of Fury (The Fury Trilogy #1) – Elizabeth Miles and Envy (The Fury Trilogy #2) – Elizabeth Miles tweeted to me about my review on my blog and followed me on Twitter. *Elizabeth Miles Twitter* She also had someone tweet to her about my blog saying “Awesome to see @MilesBooks FURY on the top ten tuesday list!” This Twitter page also linked my blog in their tweet. *Paper Lantern Lit Twitter*
Currently Reading: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (Harry Potter #1) – J. K. Rowling
I’ve read and loved this book so many times. I am, of course, loving it again. The storyline of the Harry Potter world is so brilliant. I do not understand how anyone could possibly come up with something as magical (hehe) as this series. The wizardry is fantastic and unlike anything anyone will ever read. Reading this book again reminds me of the first time I read this book. It was the summer right before fourth grade at my grandma’s house. She had all of the books and she told my brother and I how much she absolutely loved them. I wanted to read it because she loved them so much. I started it and immediately fell in love. She let me take it home and I finished it really quickly. I have never gotten past the fourth book *Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (Harry Potter #4) – J. K. Rowling* and I really want to. I’ve made myself a personal goal of finishing the series this year, therefore I need to start at the beginning. This first book is so cute and innocent and is before the books start getting darker and creepier, and I love that about this book. I am going to try and finish this as soon as possible and start a new book from a series that I haven’t finished yet…. :)
