Happy Wednesday, everyone! This has been a wonderful week so far, busy, but good. I have started Clockwork Angel and am going to read after I’m done with this post. I LOVE IT! WILL HERONDALE IS PERFECT. Okay. I love Cassandra Clare, and she definitely hasn’t failed me yet. I am very excited to have this series finished so I can read The Bane Chronicles. The other book I have on my TBR for this month is Game of Thrones. I am so excited to read this and plan on starting it when Christmas break begins. I love fantasy and cannot wait until I can say I’ve read one of George R.R. Martin’s books. I have found that I am obsessed with Ed Sheeran. I love him, I was already pretty obsessed, but I saw him perform on the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show and his voice is like an angel. I am also obsessing over Sudoku. I used to do puzzles all the time, but I stopped for some reason and couldn’t find my book so I bought a cheap one at Barnes and Noble and am obsessed yet again. Next week is crazy because IT’S NUTCRACKER WEEK! If you’ve been around for a while, you know that I am in The Nutcracker ballet. I am a baker, soldier, and Spanish dancer this year. I have dance things literally every night next week, and semester tests are on Thursday and Friday. Guess what days we have all day practices for Nutcracker? Yeah, Thursday and Friday. So I’ve been stressing over when I will make up my semester tests because I can’t do them on the days that we are supposed to do them. Yay for me. But it’ll be worth it. I love Nutcracker season!
This Wednesday I am still reading all the books I’ve been reading for the past month! Go me. Really, though, I have to finish A Discovery of Witches soon. I am almost done with Watership Down and for book club we are reading to page 175 in King Dork. My reading has been absolutely horrible lately! Not okay. I’ve been obsessing over the Erin Condren planners. Even more so than I was last week. I’ve decided that I just need to finish A Discovery of Witches because it’s actually not a bad book. I’m almost done with it and it’s finally catching my attention. I really just need to sit down and finish it, but I HAVE NO TIME. I seriously haven’t just been able to sit and read in the longest time! Short post today, but my latest posts have been very long :)
Haven’t done this meme since May… oops. Anyway, I am currently reading King Dork. Like really currently reading as in it’s sitting right next to me. This book is hilarious! Oh my gosh. I wasn’t expecting it to be this funny, very pleasantly surprised. I’m reading this book for book club. I decided I wanted to start a book club that read young adult books, so I talked to the owner of my local bookstore and she said that she would be happy to do it. We had our first meeting on Monday and it is so much fun! It’s just me and some of my closest nerd friends talking about books for a solid hour. It’s perfect. We decided that we wanted to meet every Monday, so that’s a thing now and it makes me really happy. I’m also currently reading A Discovery of Witches. Still. Ergh. For Novel I’m reading Watership Down which is surprisingly good. Talking rabbits are kinda cool I suppose :)
This week I’m reading City of Glass (The Mortal Instruments #3) – Cassandra Clare. I will try and finish it soon to start City of Fallen Angles (The Moral Instruments #4) – Cassandra Clare and then City of Lost Souls (The Mortal Instruments #5) – Cassandra Clare before the LAST ONE COMES OUT! Oh my gosh. I’m so pumped. 12 DAYS. ONLY 12. I can’t wait. Right now I’m at the part in City of Glass where the demon towers in Alicante aren’t working and there is a war beginning to form and it’s epic. I love this part and this is my favorite book out of the whole series. I love City of Lost Souls, (I’ve read them all) but this one is my favorite. *SPOILERS* Okay, you’ve been warned. If you haven’t read the first three or more do not read this part. Simon is a vampire and he’s locked down in jail in Alicante and Jace and Isabelle are bringing him blood because the new Inquisitor threatened to leave him to die if he doesn’t tell a lie to the Clave. He’s not going to tell the made up story beacause the Lightwoods are his friends, well, Clary’s friends, and that would hurt Clary. Simon loves Clary so he can’t do that, obviously. So, he’s staying down in jail with this weird guy in the cell next to his and he’s trying to stay alive, but right now there is a war going on and he can’t get out. *SPOILERS DONE* Like, what? This is unacceptable. Anyway, I love this book and can’t wait to read the others again.
I have an unreasonably high number of books I want to read this month. I have been in sort of a slump lately. Actually, no. It’s not a slump. I blame Tumblr. I am obsessed. Last night, when I could have been reading, I was on Tumblr from 4 until at least 7:30. I have a problem. It is not okay. Anyway, I have a lot of books on my to-be-read list for this month because I want to get out of my slump. I know I need to read the whole Mortal Instruments series before City of Heavenly Fire (The Mortal Instruments #6) – Cassandra Clare comes out on the 27th *19 DAYS!!*, so those will be my top priority. I am currently half of the way through City of Ashes (The Mortal Instruments #2) – Cassandra Clare and I can’t believe how many things I’d forgotten. I read them last summer and I am loving reading them again. I am finding so many things that make sense and add up to the ending of City of Lost Souls (The Mortal Instruments #5) – Cassandra Clare. I am picking up on the subtle hints. I am going to finish and review City of Ashes hopefully tonight and then I will move directly to City of Glass (The Mortal Instruments #3) – Cassandra Clare.
I’m sorry I’ve been kind of out of blogging lately. I usually have at least one review up a week and I’ve just been so busy and have been stressed about homework, so I haven’t gotten much reading done at all. I apologize and I will try to do better. :) This week I’m reading City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments #1) – Cassandra Clare for the #AYearAThon. This month’s theme is re-read, so of course I’m picking The Mortal Instruments. If I can manage to finish this one before the week is over I will start City of Ashes (The Mortal Instruments #2) – Cassandra Clare. Speaking of The Mortal Instruments, CITY OF HEAVENLY FIRE COMES OUT IN 47 DAYS! OH. MY. GOSH. #fangirlmodeactivated
I have been kind of MIA for a couple days. I started soccer a couple weeks ago and I’ve been so exhausted. Two hour practices everyday on top of eight hours of dance a week… it’s a lot. I like it, but I’m always tired now so meaning less reading. I will try and read more if I can, but I might have to stick with reading whenever possible. I am currently reading I Am Number Four (Lorien Legacies #1) – Pittacus Lore and I really like it. I want to see the movie, but right now it’s really good. The main character is starting to get his legacies and he’s falling in love. I really like the girl that he likes because she’s sweet and very nice. I like reading this book and one of my favorite parts is that the side of the book says Lorien Legacies on the pages. I also like the movie cover better than the normal cover because the guy is very attractive and the two girls are really pretty. I think it looks better for the book than the actual cover. When I finish this book I will start The Knife of Never Letting Go (Chaos Walking #1) – Patrick Ness. I checked this book out from my school library during a study hall one time and I am really excited to read it. I’ve heard really great things about this book from some people on Youtube and I’ve read reviews and most of them are positive. I can’t wait to finish I Am Number Four and start The Knife of Never Letting Go.
Last night I finished Graceling (Graceling Realm #1) – Kristin Cashore and I really enjoyed it. It made me remember how much I love fantasy books. I had about 70 pages left when I was in my study hall, so I decided that I should go to the library and find a couple books that I don’t own and just check them out. I don’t usually like getting books from the library because I can’t mark my favorite parts, and I like buying the books so I can have the whole series lined up on my shelf. I will end up buying the books that I got from the library because I will read the others in the series and I want them all to be on my bookshelf. It seems pointless, but that’s how it’s going to work. Last night in between dance classes I started The Lying Game (The Lying Game #1) – Sara Shepard. I checked this book out because I LOVED the TV show before they stopped playing it. I watched every episode and I loved it so much. I liked it better than Pretty Little Liars, but now all I have is PLL. I wanted to see where the story started and I’m so glad I checked this out because it is already so different from the TV show. I am going to be reading a lot today because I’m sick. Again. Gosh, I hate being sick so much. My whole family is sick and we’re all staying home today. Fun family sick day….
Okay. I’m still reading Graceling (Graceling Realm #1) – Kristin Cashore and Don’t Even Think About It – Sarah Mlynoswski. I am loving reading Graceling though! The love story is absolutely perfect. I love how much they love eachother oh my gosh. Kristen Cashore’s writing style is beautiful and some of the quotes are absolutely perfect. Po is such a loveable character and I cannot wait to finish this book and read the other’s in the series. Po is a new book crush. These book crushes are getting completely out of hand because I have wayyyy too many… Well, what can you do? The only reason I haven’t finished Don’t Even Think About It is because it’s so extremely weird. I don’t really know what to think of it and I don’t particularly like it… at all. I’m going to finish it because I feel obligated to, but I don’t really enjoy it.
Oh my gosh. Okay. This has nothing to do with reading, but the spring finale of Pretty Little Liars was so intense. I don’t even know what to do with myself. Alison told everything. The only thing she didn’t know was who A was. This is crazy. Ezra got shot. Do what now? Crazy, crazy stuff. AND DIVERGENT COMES OUT TOMORROW!!! This movie better be amazing because I’ve wanted a movie since I first read it. I can’t go tomorrow because of a dance class, but I’m going on Friday and I cannot wait. Because Tobias….
Woah, what? I’m back? Yes, that is correct. I have been MIA for almost a week! oopsies. I decided I was going to be in soccer, so I have had to start running for that on top of all my dance. On Monday night, right after school, I went to my local sports store and bought all my things for soccer: cleats, shin guards, shorts, etc. I’ve never been part of a sports team so I’m really excited, but nervous. Anyway, I’ve had to run *ergh. running.* and I’ve just been tired. So, I am currently reading Don’t Even Think About It – Sarah Mlynowski. I got this from NetGalley, and I looked on the NetGalley website a couple days ago, and realized that there was an expiration date of when you needed to have the review up…. You could say I’m a newbie at NetGalley. I started reading it thinking I could finish it in the short two days, but I still haven’t finished it. I won’t get my review up on NetGalley, but I will still have it here. All I can say about this book is that it’s really weird. This homeroom gets flu shots and then the next day they can hear eachother’s thoughts. Like, what? It’s not bad, but it is definitely not 4 or 5 stars good.
